As if by magic someone has posted a pic of it in our 'Leeds & West Yorkshire rail group' You can see the low buildings clearly. (I think this area is the where the viaduct line diverges) The sidings to Farnley m.p.d can be seen in the background. According to my old rail map the branch line from the fireclay to Manor colliery should cross under here somewhere.. http://www.flickr.com/photos/thanoz/475 ... srailways/

You might be interested in this arial 1963 pic Farnleybloke. If you look @ this pic here & look at the options above then click on 'All sizes' & view it large it gives you a good look @ Copley hill, the viaduct line as far as Farnley & Wortley. You can see there's no evidence of mining or rail lines on Wortley rec @ that time but there appears to be several overbridges accross the Holbeck viaduct line near Wortley station http://www.flickr.com/photos/phill_dvsn ... 4?edited=1

Phill, thanks alot for that, cracking pictures! I don't seem to have an option for "all sizes" on that last pic although i do on others. (I'm new to flickr so it's probably me).On the 1894 map it looks like the line to manor colliery passes over Dragon Bridge and then over the viaduct line on a bridge not under. The bridge is still there by the last map i can get - 1938 but the lines have disappeared by the 1921 map.
