I always enjoy coming across some artefact made in Leeds in foreign partsThe Castle in North wales ( near Bangor) is well worth a visit but the small industrial railway museum in the castle was an added bonus. To my surprise about half the preserved narrow guage locos were made in Leeds.I'll try uploading a few photos More info about the locos fromhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Penrhyn_Castle_Railway_MuseumAnyone else care to post photos of artefacts made in Leeds which they have found lurking in some corner of a foreign field?
It used to be said that the statue of the Black Prince had been placed in City Square , near the station, pointing South to tell all the southerners who've just got off the train to b****r off back down south!

This Hunslet made engine Hugh Napier is currently being restored at Penrhyn. Unfortunately it is behind glass and the photo has a lot of reflection.

About 10 years ago I was in Thailand and got the train from Bangkok north. It was modern DMU type affair, the doors slid open to reveal 'Hunslet' proudly stamped on the floor.

This old Smiths Crane of Rodley really was lurking in a corner of a foreign field ( well on the wrong side of the pennines anyway) at Astley colliery Leigh Lancs ( now a museum).
