SecretLeeds - History, culture and architecture in Leeds

Thankfully i've just put together all the bits and pieces of my tram project i found myself doing with a few other guys in the group, after we came across the supply box at Roundhay.We got quite a bit of valuable info from the guys in the know on S.L.The site is great for pooling all this info together.Anyway we documented what we could find that's left of the Leeds tram system.To finish off we went down to Crich to photograph and play on the trams last Saturday.A jolly good time was had too I really enjoyed doing all this, although there was a lot of work envolved. It was well worth it!I hadn't realised it's 50 years this year since the trams stopped running until i started putting it all together..]All the pictures, info, history, there's even a video of the Leeds trams on my story herehttp://snipurl.com/fpr7kI'm sure there will be one or two minor errors in there.I'd appreciate any help/advice or feedbak on it from you guys.Ding ding. A slight error though, the cast iron post shown on Street Ln. I believe is a fairly modern addition, put in to protect the corner from damage by heavy vehicles.    

As an additional photo, here is one I posted earlier but can't find now of what was the only surviving evidence of the Leeds trams in Morley - since I took this photo last year, this has now gone.

I think Phill that perhaps you and the team can't fully imagine the delight and pleasure that this masterpiece has brought to me - an "old gimmer" who wallows in the good old past of the transport scene, and openly despairs of the present day "Barbie" and others.Your project is put together with such feeling for a "fresh look" that I almost feel that I am in the city centre, or the depots, or at Crich where I am a member of the TMS. This gem of a presentation will bring no end of enjoyment, and I'm sure the odd tear to many an eye, and so very well done and thank you indeed.

Excellent - coincidentally I think that Arch 99 and the roadway coming out of it follows the course of one of the original Isle of Cynder goits. I had thought that some stonework may be original but the tram picture shows the site has been well worked over.
