That wouldn't surprise me - the stickers on the back of some of them about the £120 fine for driving in the bus lane would support that.It also gets us ready for the cast off London bendy buses that we'll be getting next year as Boris cleanses the capital of them ahead of the Olympics.

saw a 51 reg tonight and an 01 one in the orange livery one all white.I wonder how many of these buses meet the disabled access regs that are imminent and whether they are excluded due to size of operation. If it is size of operation presumably Arriva and First wouldn't be excluded but Geldards would. Geldards would need this to be the case because I don't think they have a bus in the fleet without a large entry step after stepping on.

Not directly relevant to the thread but I've often wondered if the name Geldards was used because it is an anagram of Ledgards (of Samuel Ledgards buses fame).

Noticed an advert on the back of a Worst bus "Escape from soaring fuel costs - go by bus". Should I complain to the ASA about it? After all, it's the soaring fares I'm bothered about.Maybe we're waiting for the "First Credit Card" to spread the cost of your journey?
I like work. I can watch it for hours.

A purple slug was broken down just at the western end of the long eastbound tunnel on the inner ring road at 5pm tonight.Causing absolute chaos it was - seems a funny time to have a bus running in, yet you often see them on there around then (usually driving along, mind!)

As you say raveydavey, its a very odd time for a "running in" journey. I daresay the pilot reported a defect on the flight from Pudsey to Leeds and feared that he might not be able to gain sufficient height to reach Whinmoor. Air Traffic Control will have instructed him to transfer (ditch) the passengers in Leeds and limp home to the hangar in Bramley on a wing and a prayer. Like everyone else I always imagined that a streetcar ran on wheels and tracks, but from the cartoon terminology inflicted on us by "first" evidently not !!
There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.
