Wasn't it part of the original requirement that it should produce lower kerbside emissions or at least reduce existing kerbside CO2 levels?

The incredible cost of this scheme, for one line, leaves me breathless to the point of being almost unable to comment, other than to say, sarcastically, that the proposed cost of the equally farcical Leeds tram/trolleybus ideas seem almost like a bargain !! Signed the REAL Victor Meldrew, Headingley !!
There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.

Money no object, underwritten the HM Government's open chequebook (i.e. us English taxpayers) as part of the ongoing bribes to the Scottish Parliament.I could almost be tempted to start campaigning for a Parliament of the North, but then I remember the calibre of politicians we have up here....

Evening all.It appears the trolleybus system in Wellington,NZ,is being abandoned,in spite of some of the vehicles being only about seven years old. They have not decided on what type of vehicles will replace them yet.John.

These trolley buses in Wellington are 90 years old so they would probably have gone anyway.
