Do you know what really gets me about this new development? It's the line 'A spokesman for Metro said the authority was “in negotiations” with Schroder but could provide no detail of the reasons for the firm’s apparent change of heart.'Why are Metro 'in negotiations' with Schroders? I don't recall anyone from Metro contacting me at any point and offering to 'negotiate' with me about my equally valid objections to this half-baked scheme. The whole inference is of deals being offered in darkened rooms. Precisely what is to be negotiated? What could Metro say or do to make them change their minds? We have a right to know.If you're a massive investment trust, it seems that Metro will lower themselves to talk to you, a privilege that neither they nor the council have seen fit to offer the electorate of Leeds who will be saddled with the unwanted Edwardian follybus and left to pay for it for decades to come, long after Cllrs Wakefield and Lewis have swanned off with their superannuated pensions.Or is the phrase simply Metro management speak for "Oh no, we've been rumbled"?We've been told there are public consultations - which seem to have the emphasis firmly on the 'con', but everything I've seen seems to consist of Metro telling us why they're right and we're wrong whilst swiftly moving the goal posts every time they get tripped up on something.

A few weeks ago Brian Cleasby suggested scrapping the idea and spending the money on dualling the ring road between the Rodley and Horsforth roundabouts: http://www.theleedsguardian.com/2014/02 ... ring-road/. There's plenty of room for the road itself but the expensive bit would replacing the 3 bridges across the railway line, river and canal. Dualling it up to Dawson's Corner might also be an option.

So clearly not for our masters then...

Today's YEPLeeds ‘trolleybus threatened’ Woodhouse Moor snap on displayThe above photograph is currently on display at Waterloo Station. It shows the exact spot on Woodhouse Moor that Metro want to build a trolleybus stop on.There's an article about the photograph in today's Yorkshire Evening Post which has enraged the trolleybus lobby, judging by the comments they've made. http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/n ... -1-6520411

*Breaking news*Leeds City Council announce the 'Share your vision for the future' survey results. The Trolleybus scheme got over whelming support with a yes vote.http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/n ... ally....It is April the 1st and no one in their right mind would believe that, so it matters not it's after dinner time. The point being the survey was 'supposed' to have closed on March the 3rd. Yet you can still take the survey, and we've heard nothing at all a month later. The Council can't be allowed to forget this hoax scam, as I'm sure they very much want to because they didn't get the yes vote they had hoped for.

More shenanigans from Metro:http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/n ... 6556312Not only do they still have follybuses in North Korea, but this story indicates that our political masters seem to think we live there too...What possible reason could there be for Metro not publishing the results of the consultation?

Also in the news today*Leeds is to be renamed Lewisgrad with a statue of our elected dictator erected in Lewis Square by the train station*We need that dreadful man out now! He's doing the same destructive 'keeping us down' damage to our City that Ken Bates did to Leeds United.

An alliance of objectors will today begin a bid to stop Leeds trolleybus scheme in its tracks. The public inquiry that will decide the fate of the £250m project gets under way at 10am at the Regus office building off Wellington Street in the city centre.Objectors provisionally scheduled to appear include:* Leeds bus operator First, which has claimed a fleet of state-of-the-art double deckers would deliver the same benefits as trolleybus at a fraction of the cost;* Yorkshire-based supermarket giant Morrisons, which has said that NGT would “adversely impact” on its store in Hunslet;* Leeds College of Art, which has already submitted documents to the inquiry saying the scheme has been subject to insufficient public consultation and has also been developed “in haste in response to political decisions at a national level”;* Community groups including the Friends of Woodhouse Moor as well as residents’ associations in West Park and Weetwood.Read more herehttp://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/news/lat ... -1-6584433
