Is that at the old brick works Phill? I wonder if it's being used as a 'ballancing lake' to control the runoff from the area. Until the sewr was built, there was an embargo on building in Scholes because of lack of sewer capacity.BTW - have you seen Barnbow recently, going, going ....

I know Thorp Park are messing around at Austhorpe (opposite the Barnbow factory) but haven't seen anything actually at Barnbow.

Yeah, what is happening..?I notice near John Smeaton Community College (lol, college XD gah! It's a high school! Not a college!! It doesn't even sound fancy! Well, back to our railway rant ;p) they are digging something on the grass infront of the rock wall/old railway bridge thing.I noticed a few days ago when we went to investigate ;DI went down where the tracks used tah be - It's not like how I remember it when i went down there in yr 5 with mah friend ... oh well XDIt makes me really want to ride my bike (has had a flat tire for years so probs too small for me now anyway -_-), so i can ride along it and pretend to be a train and see what it was like ;D lol.We went behind the icecream factory and all that near the old tank yard to see the current train track, but didn't stay long because we were like on private land XDMostly I wanna see where it connected to the current line, or well, you know what I mean XD hopefully. I think someone meantioned it on here ... where exactly is it?(that was long lol)

I think I understood your question there I hope your good at reading maps as I can't be bothered explaining in words. Basically the line was were the red dotted line is. The line veered right into Barnbow. Click the picture twice to view full size and your question should be answered lol.

A view of Collingham Station just after the tracks were lifted. The old cottage to the south of the signal box is still there, it is known as The Plate layers Cottage. One of the streets opposite the cottage is Dewer Close, named after the last station master.
