It looks like the funding is still a possibility having survived the Autumn Statement. It is however one of a number of projects fighting for the funding.

There maybe trouble ahead..........Looks like Metro think they need a lawyer for the project http://www.wymetro.com/aboutmetro/jobs/ ... August2012 . Can't think why, I mean everyone's in favour of the trolleybus, aren't they?? ediited to correct typos

That's interesting tyke bhoy. I notice in the job advert it states "Metro and Leeds City Council recently secured DfT approval for its flagship £250M public transport infrastructure scheme “NGT” in Leeds". I must have missed that news, as I did not know it!

It's probably about land requisition and compensation, and other such constructional details.

Good to see the Leeds Horse tram is progressing well and look forward to seeing it in action in 2013.

Maybe they ought to get a "no win, no fee" lawyer, so if the project gets cancelled (again) they don't have to pay anything.
I like work. I can watch it for hours.

Were the businesses that paid extra tax in Leeds for the tram down Headingley into Town ever compensated for it never materialising?
