Hi Phil, the old tram system has always fascinated me but as previously said, there's not much visible these days, the tracks were mainly buried under tarmac but much of it is still there, now one thing that I do remember is travelling down roundhay road on a double decker yonks ago and noticing, especially if we had a dry spell of weather, was the outline of tramtracks on the old grassed over trackbed between the Clock buildings and Oakwood traffic lights, someone has said that some of these tracks are still in situ buried beneath a few inches of earth, so that's maybe worth investigating, Now then, where's me shovel.

Nice work there Drapsey.I always look at that old tram stop when i pass and wonder if it's worth capturing.Your first shot has inspired me to get it now.It doesn't look much from the road side. I like that angle you got there. Thanks Edgey.i've seen pictures of the tracks lifted along that grassed area before. (outside of Tescos)My scanners broke at the mo (corrupt file to open it grrr)I'll try take a pic of it tho.

I haven't noticed lately, but at one time the tracks frequently showed through the tarmac on the sharp (city end) bend on Castleton Bridge in Armley Road, just above the Albion pub.

May be a lot more interesting "stuff" under the tarmac.

When they were building the new bit on Park Lane college the workmen had to do some digging at the junction of Belle Vue Road and Burley Street/Park Lane. Whilst digging down they hit the old tram-lines and had to cut through them to carry on. I wish I had taken some pix.
Sit thissen dahn an' tell us abaht it.

All the years I worked at the depot, and never spotted this clue in the tarmac
