Not wishing to be heartless, but less dangerous congestion could have been caused if the bus had been moved just a very short distance to the wide sweep just beyond "The Oak" - still, to be fair I suppose the driver considered getting help to the lad to be top priority. I don't think you are being heartless Blakey. Unless the driver was the only person tending to the boy? I would think that leaving the bus in that location rather than moving it round the corner probably caused a delay to the ambulance arriving due to resultant congestion.

I'd agree with you both on that one unless, as you say, the driver was the only person offering assistance.

Have just had confirmation of the history of these buses from a reliable enthusiast/employee source.I had forgotten, but they were new to Bradford and were quite soon transferred to York for Park and Ride. They then came back to Hunslet Park to supplement the ailing batch on Holt Park - Beeston(1) and since the return of that route to double deck operation they have been in store until now.

Blakey am i mistaken that the 95 route which requires less buses (shorter and less frequent) was where the bendybuses were switched as they were taken off the 1 Route?

I can't just remember exactly what happened there - I'm sure a few of them did some journeys on the 95 but I don't think the route was totally converted to "bendies" altogether. Incidentally while I was once travelling into Leeds on the 56 I had to pinch myself as we approached Chestnut Avenue - one of the monsters was just emerging from that street into Victoria Road, and you know how congested with parked cars both sides CA was in those days. The "snake" wasn't in service but neverthelss it was a scene I wish I could have filmed !!

Cheer up sir, you haven't failed again at all and the picture is OK. I think we all agree with you about the "purple things" - in fact you're much too polite LOL LOL.
