Some old bus stations in the centre of Leeds.

If there are none then I think that for someone with more ability than me it could be a good historical record to produce a book/booklet. Leodian, the Rockingham Street stands are documented (with maps) in one of the Merrion Centre threads, sited under the upperarcades by Morrisons. It had Green busses, Wset Riding maybe? es it was a temporary car park when cleared - it's a rather dim memory Phill, wonder if Blakey will know. I spent quite a few Sundays at Wellington Street in the mid-80s, waiting for the bus to Middlesbrough. It was even more bleak and windswept on a Sunday with very little nearby. Even the snack bar closed just about as I got off the bus from Doncaster. The Wellington pub must have been nearby but I can't remember it being open even after the licensing laws changed.

The picture on cliffordstead's flicker site was more or less as the former bus station remained until the late 80, [I'm sure]. I'm also quite sure that the rounded building remained but without its cannopy, the building itself being used as the office for the car park that the bus station had turned into. The first building put up on the site is still there, just shielded by whatever frots onto New York Street. The attached phot is a capture from the 2002 version of Google Earth and shows this new building with the New York St. side of the site still undeveloped.

It was used by the West Riding no 10 buses from Wakefield. They used to be the distinctive red AEC Roe bodied central entrance double deckers. But these were eventually replaced by red versions of the ill fated Wulfrunians, and then by run of the mill green West Riding buses.I believe that after that the site was occupied by Autoglass, but I'm not sure what's thre now.

I was thinking Kwikfit.

I remember the old West Riding bus station very well. My sisters used to live in Outwood and we used to catch the 110 from there.Red livery back then.
