A friend and I have ridden on the canal bank between Leeds and Shipley together and most of it was only just suitable for his hybrid bike.I've ridden the Bramley-Leeds stretch a few times on my own and whilst I can make better progress on my mountain bike I have more often than not ended up with a wet backside -- though I don't have mudguards so others may have more luck.I would consider using the towpath to commute but, then, I'd expect to take a change of clothes to a job anyhow if I cycled.
