Not strictly Leeds, but people may be interested. The "Dewsbury loop" a GNR line from Wakefield to Bradford via Ossett, Dewsbury and Batley was closed in the Beeching cuts in 1964. However, the Earlsheaton Tunnel has been reopened and it is now possible to walk the line from Chickenley into Dewsbury via the tunnel, it's lit and not in the least scary so might put some Secret Leedsers off but nevertheless the tunnel is curved and 179 metres long and an amazing example of Victorian engineering skills.
