A tale I can tell when I was guarding I nipped off the bus at Cottingley to go to the toilet in the precinct.I had already told the driver I needed to go .Someone pushed the bell I came walking back to see my bus disappearing round the flats.Chased after it still with Ticket machine & cash bag flying,no chance.I ended up at the bottom of Cottingley Drive and stopped a Morley bus with radio on to notify checkers in Briggate.Driver managed to get to Briggate with out even noticing I wasn't on board.(circa 1973)
