Thanks Leo for those beautiful photographs.
My pure guess is that your final photo is one of the original Victorian/Edwardian covers installed in the arcade (hence its foot-worn appearance) and that the cover in the centre of the mosaic is a modern reproduction which was incorporated into the design when the "Quarter" was created from the old arcade and street.
