I noticed The LEODIS site has no content, all the pictures have been removed. Is this the end?

Well that's a total disaster. That's shocking to loose so much historical content. In all honesty the price of hosting that website must be irrelevant. These cuts are taking the biscuit. I'm glad i managed to salvage some for the underground tour thread now.

I expect they're doing some maintenance or something. There'd have been an announcement, surely, if the site was being taken down permanently.

If anyone gets a moment could they nominate Leodis to the British Library Archive? (in light of the dissappearing photos! - and future budget cuts). I've just done so but the more people that do, the better. (A few people nominated the Secret Leeds site a few weeks ago though I don't see on the archive yet so possibly copyright rules prevent it's archiving).

http://www.webarchive.org.uk/ukwa/info/nominate They'll be back - this has happened before Hippo and indications are there is a system fault. More nominations the better - they do say it could be some time before these are actioned though.Leodis is funded from a Lottery grant so isn't directly vulnerable to the cuts btw.

The City Varieties site was down earlier today too although it seems to be back now. Actually, I came here assuming it would be down...
