Those pics bring back memories. We walked from Meanwood into the City circa 1968 under those tunnels.

A small part of the wall at the side of the beck (on the Meanwood Road side nearest to North Street) looked as if it was partly down and so provided the bricks.

It's not been visible from street level for 160 years.

Passing by today (March 3 2013) I noticed that the gap in the wall now has grey bricks fixed in place, so the lost bit of wall there has been repaired (I recently saw a man doing some brickwork there).
