See attached picture. There is a gate in the south end of Sewage Works Road (Yorkshire Water). Apparently , Google maps says Sewage Works Road is a public path, but I always found the gate closed. Is it a public street? Does the gate open some times ? Has somebody walked this path ?

It's not a right of way. In the past some works had permissive routes through them but a lot of them have been closed due to theft. I don't know if tis was ever the case at Knostrop. One that still exists is the road through the middle of Esholt sewage works, though you need to apply for a pass. It's closed one day a year to ensure it doesn't become a right of way.

I've cycled through there.
