Visible street signs for streets that no longer exist.

It does look like Roman numerals, but the 1890 map shows it as Ridge View. I can make out the "View" bit of the sign now that I know what it's supposed to say.

its Ridge View, i couldnt remember off top of me head, but ive often walked past and can confirm its Ridge View Weenie

Yeah this one bugged me so i went to have a look and it does say ridge view. Is that a house name or an old street name ? However it bears striking resemblance to another sign not a million miles away i mean the colour lettering brick work is all identical this one says Oriental Terracehttp://goo.gl/maps/z98mk

So does anyone have any ideas are these long lost street names or building names?ridge view sounds like it could be a house name but oriental terrace sounds more like a street any clues?
