How many of these still about?Good old fashioned cast iron types, not the modern black and yellow steel types.How many can we all find?http://snipurl.com/fvt8n

I posted a picture you put up earlier Brunel but then realised that was an old Bench Mark sign..... so removed it!Yes these used to be everywhere didn't they? There used to be one at the path edge outside Mum's old house, replaced later with a large concrete pillar and the cheap painted steel plate. I suspect the old ones would almost have to be custom made for each location - can just imagine what that would cost now, let alone how quickly they'd disappear.By way of example, the 'Blue Plaques' cost in the region of £400 to cast and erect.

The new ones have a slot in number system.The old red cast iron signs would be individually cast.

Three more found today, all within 75 Yds of each other.Have been past 'em many times and never even noticed.Is this now becoming obsessive compulsive behaviour.Plus a proper Fire Hydrant.

WOW that's a biggun leeds lad lolThey look lovely when there painted up dont they?It almost makes me want to run outside and paint the nearest hydrant sign
