Further to the previous piece abtTittybottle Park in Otley,I have tried to enlargea section from the poster which could easilyhave been scripted from Spike Milligan'sQ8 TV series! (Well I think so!)Mekkem 'ave it, Hughie lad!Sharpen thatgramophone needle and keep winding!I think they 'Did' for him with the Artillery piece! That explains why it was only there a short time?

The Suburban Bar near the park was originally a restaurant called Tittybottle. Can't think why it didn't last long....You will have been to see the loco hedge again, then, Arry? At the other end of the park?

Yes the 'Engine' hedgeis still chuffing(!),but a bit overgrown right now and the funnel "Smoke" effect will have the Smoke Abatement peopledown on'em if it gets much bigger!!LOLIs the Old Tittybottle (Suburban bar) the one opposite the Cop Shop just up the road? Always closed during the day!It was a lovely day out for us.nice and sunny and flowerseverywhere. Pint of Timmy's Landlord and a beef sarniein the Black Bull, too! Perfect. They still can't sort out the public toilets tho'! Paid 20p andpretty disgusting. They were much better under Otley counciland free too! The one up by the Wharfmeadows was freebut in the same state as the bus station one! Good job we can hold us watter!(Almost!) best going in the Pub really.Tittybottle Park made our Day as we had no Idea it had existed!CheersArry

Yes, Arry. The closed one opposite the cop-shop!You're right - the loos aren't very nice. I use the Bay Horse ones! The carparks were free under Otley council, too!

there are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand ternary, those that don't and those that think this a joke about the binary system.

No, but it's interesting that the plaque commemorates Victoria's Diamond Jubilee (1897,) but has the dates of her reign at the top (1837 - 1901.) The bricks look newer than 1901, too!I should think a plaque like that would cost £7500 itself, these days! (Lovely bit of typography, BTW.)
