I noticed this today, at the City Varieties old entrance off the Headrow, presumable the first word was 'circle'

I believe that the alleyway no longer belongs to the Theatre organisation, but its been an indescribable eyesore for years and its high time that whoever does own it got it cleaned up.
There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.

Its been a while since you posted this Drapesy and in the years since this sign deteriorated even further to the point of being barely readable.Imagine my surprise when I passed through the area recently to see this -What I can't work out is who has had this done as, of course, Larkspur no longer exists and I can't see the Kings Cantonese ( the owners of the building ) paying for the sign renovating.Whoever has had it done - it certainly looks good.

Pics here: http://www.ghostsigns.co.uk/2014/07/lar ... rush.htmlI wonder if it's to do with the increased traffic to the village caused by Prashad. We've taken to going through as a shortcut from Gildersome roundabout to Tong on the way home.

Morning all. What an interesting thread.Driving along Foundry Approach yesterday, I grabbed this picture of a recently uncovered shop frontage.Sorry the quality is not great, the words picked out in ceramic tiles say "Thrift Stores".Brings back memories, used to be a common site around Leeds. Were they found beyond Leeds?John.
