Bleachground Pit Middleton
can anyone help me with information on Bleachground Pit in Middleton, there seems to be very little about it that i can find, i have read that the Middleton Railway ran to Bleachground Pit and if i can recall correctly that it was its southern most point of the railway. From what i can gather is that there was a few engine houses running from the pit and up the avenune, it looks like there was 1 where glass house farm was and 1 where the butchers is and that the waggons were pulled along the rails by a cable via the engine houses. i can see that on another post Parksider mentions Bleachground Pit and says that it is pictured in a book of Middleton by Edward Docherty, i can see on leodis that someone else references the book and says it was called bygone Middleton, can someone help me with the photos of Bleachground Pit or any information on it at all please, also how do i find this elusive book?
