Demolished House of Fraser store (once Woolworths) on Briggate, Leeds.
What was the House of Fraser store on Briggate, Leeds, has been demolished. Some will remember that it used to be a F. W. Woolworth store that closed in 1987. These are 2 photos that I took on August 23 2023.
A rainbow is a ribbon that Nature puts on when she washes her hair.

Any idea what is being built on the site?
It used to be said that the statue of the Black Prince had been placed in City Square , near the station, pointing South to tell all the southerners who've just got off the train to b****r off back down south!

I thought I should mention that what may look like a picture in a large frame in the first photo is actually premises on a part of Central Road well in the rear (I don't know what the frame is, perhaps some part of Fraser's still there). I assume that Central Road has not been directly visible from here for a long time.

Hi Leodian thank you for posting these photos, I worked at HOF from 1996 to 2005 and have lots of great memories of the place and the staff, also would go in when it was Woolworths, I’ve read the ground floor is going to be a retail space don’t know about basement area, and floors above ground floor will be students flats ,
