Drony Laith

Post by shutthatdoor »

I have long been amused by the name "Drony Laith" which is described and mapped as being close to Bean Ings.
On searching the term "Drony" I have only been able to conclude that it may be used to describe as like the noise of Bees. Does anyone know the origin of the this Tolkien sounding name place?

Thanks Uncle Mick. It does suggest it had been around for quite some time. I have seen it described as a 'Farm" before it became a Dyeworks.
Perhaps it relates to the name of a person who occupied it previously. It seems to be destined to remain a mystery but it's nice to have curiosities sometimes.
