The bridge over Adel Beck near the Scotland Mill site.

There has been a bridge over Adel Beck near the Scotland Mill site for a very long time. It is seen on at least an 1851 1:10560 map and seems to have been part of Scotland Mill Lane that led to what is labelled 'Scotland Flax Mill' on that map though an 1893 1:2500 map labels that as 'Scotland Mill (Bleach Works)'. A 1921 1:2500 map shows little change but a 1934 1:2500 map shows that Scotland Mill Lane has been cut into two sections by the Ring Road which will have affected the use of the then remaining short section off the Ring Road to Scotland Mill.
I suspect that the current bridge has been renovated once or more but perhaps some of it may still be original. In particular there are 2 tall stone pillars at one end that look likely to be original. I wonder what purpose they had (perhaps there was once a gate between them?). One is a bit taller than the other and must be near about 5 feet tall. I have added 3 photos that I took on April 14 2021. One is a view across the bridge and one a close view of the pillars. The third shows the bridge where Adel Beck comes out after its short run under the bridge.
