hi all.

Im doing an final year Architecture project based around the Templar house old Methodist chapel in Leeds http://leedscivictrust.org.uk/uploads/l ... 0House.pdf

My research and brief is to do with protest both new and old and protest movements. Primarily the Chartism movement.
the Northern star is a Chartism newspaper made by Feargus O'Connor.

What i need but cant find anywhere is the location and any information about where the newspaper was written or printed or where abouts O'Connor lived or worked in Leeds.

if anybody can help me out i will be eternally grateful.

Cheers all

John

There's quite a lot of information available just through a quick Google search. The paper was printed at 12/13 Market Street, Briggate and published at No 5 Market Street.

Contemporary newspaper reports have quite a lot about O'Connor himself, I expect you'll find much more if you have access to one of the British newspaper archive websites.

A book detailing O'Connor's trial gives his address as Hammersmith.
