Usually used as a measure of current prosperity Leo's pic of the one at the East Gate development got me thinking that the Leeds Skyline will soon be full of cranes as I am aware of a couple of others that that have gone up in the last week and a couple more due to go up.So moving roughly east to westBlue crane - East GateYellow Crane - Station Southern EntranceRed Crane - Hilton Hotel (Top of Cookridge Street)Red Crane - University of Leeds Library (just below Parkinson Building on Woodhouse Lane)2 Cranes - Central Village Phase III (not erected yet but will be going up soon at the top of Calverley Street)Blue Crane - location somewhere near York Square/St Martin Street being erected as I typeYellow Crane with blue top - somewhere in the vicinity of Wellington Street the old YEP buildingThe last two are the most recent ones and I have yet to exactly pinpoint them so any help on that and what they are there for (building) would be appreciated. Also have I missed any.PS As I am asking about buildings in progress I have put it in the Buildings forum but the moerators may feel it better placed in general chat because it isn't a specific building but several

When I was still working and used to drive into Leeds as you came down York Road we would count the number of cranes you could seeAlso coming in down the 621 great view across the city even more cranes to seeI worked in the building industry and we used to call it Builders pornography the more cranes the happier we were all that lovely work to be doneI don't know whether its the same now but there was great rivalry between Leeds and Manchester to build more and higher than the other

thanks Uncle Mick. That makes my las one 6 Wellington Place but unless its Central Square doesn't explain the penultimate one going up as I type.I missed the edge and I think got the colour wrong on the University Library and the Victoriagate one although my excuse is Blue/Dark Green look very similar in the dark.
