Lots of scaffolding up around the building now. Been this way for the past week or so. Anybody got a clue what is being done with it?

The scaffolding and historic corrugated tin hoarding is carefully chosen to compliment this listed building by the looks of it. I think maybe the scaffolding should be listed itself.

Wasn't there a threat of the council stepping in if 'urgent' work wasn't carried out on the building a couple of years ago? Before it was offered for sale and then withdrawn?

I hope they do a good job of it, it's in a right state.

We are paying for this successful business to replace their roof. It has been widely reported in the YEP.
After much sabre rattling from the council, including threats of a compulsory purchase order, they were given a grant of £500k from public funds to do the work.
Remember that next time a politician pops up claiming there is no money for front line public services...

They dont have any gutters either. I suspect the scaffolding company is expressing its disatisfaction about something.
