Passing by today (April 29 2014) I happened to spot an unusual letter box that is fitted in a window at 23 Park Cross Street in LS1 (see the photo that I took). I assume that the letter box is in use. In taking the photo I did not take any notice of the inside of the premises but that would seem to be hidden from easy view as evidenced by the strong reflections of buildings on the other side of the road.

This photo is a more direct view of the letter box. As I was taking it I realised that my reflection would show but thankfully only my legs are seen as I bent down to take the photo, so you are all spared seeing the rest of my very non-photogenic body!

So, readers, study the photograph of the reflected legs carefully. Then, if you think you see Leodian wandering around Leeds City Centre in the coming weeks, tap him on the bottom with a rolled up copy of The Skyrack Express and say "You are Lobby Leodian and I claim the ten pounds prize!"

Who would have thought it! My legs are a topic on SL. The mention of newspapers having a spot the person carrying of a copy of our newspaper then make some comment to them for a prize made me realise that it must be long back that this used to be a common thing (wow that is a long sentence! ). If I recall right they used to regularly have the person in seaside towns such as Scarborough, Whitby, etc. Mind you, I never spotted anyone and I don't recall anyone who ever did!

"You are Lobby Lud and I claim my £5 prize", was just one. I recall blokes walking round Scarborough and Bridlington just after the war, waiting to be challenged. They worked for national newspapers.
