This building is on Aire Street, round the back of the City Central building (the old station hotel). On first inspection it looks like a part of City Central but it's not, or not originally anyway - the brickwork's different (looks older), the style of the windows and other features is different, plus it just seems illogical that they'd build this big hotel and then just stick this funny bit on at the back at a funny angle. So what is it then? Part of the old Central Station maybe?

Thanks! So if I'm summarising correctly:- Originally the upper floor was a linking corridor between the hotel and Central Station (the main entrance to the station being effectively at first floor level, access from Wellington Street being at a higher level than the street level now). The lower floor seems to have been some sort of goods/tradesman's entrance to the hotel and/or station.- Post-1967, when the station closed, it's been an electricity substation - initially linked to the old Whitehall Road Power Station
