Hi all, I was placed in a nursery in Kirstall from about 8wks old and went there until I was 4yrs old. I have no idea where this building is now or whether it still exists. I remember waving to the coal trains over the nursery stone walls and it was surrounded by lots of lawn. We all were made to have an afternoon nap on fold out camp army style beds after lunch. I remember my fav carer, I called her nurse feather but I think she actually was called Heather. Anyone have any photos of this place. I remember picking old used bus tickets off of the floor on the bus on the way to mum dropping me at the nursery. Funny how certain memories stick isn't it, I remember a gentleman smiling at me and giving me a big roll of bus tickets. I was only about 2 or three so he prob was young himself but he looked very old to me at the time and in my memories.Did anyone go there themselves and does anyone have photos of the place

Big nursery on Burley Park. I think it ticks all your boxes.

I was thinking the same. The nursery was on Burley Road not far from the park entrance and the railway bridge was a few yards down from the nursery. There was a scout club also and there was a disco every week back in the 60's.
