Does anybody know what it is? The houses behind the wall are modern bungalows and the wall look significantly older. The are two diagonal raised lines as you can see. Looks like the remains of an old trough possibly? It can be found at the corner of Lidgett Hill and Lidgett Lane LS8 just opposite the old Victorian ginnel. Please excuse the screenshot from the Android, was having a walk to garage when I noticed it.....

Here you go Simon.
http://goo.gl/maps/Ss0sjI remember them building the wall like that, the tree obstacle has since gone. But you can still see the roots in the hole in the wall built over them. You see that method of building walls across tree roots now and again. You can see the pavement edging at one time ran around the tree roots on your screen shot.

Thanks a lot Phil, never knew that either, you see brickwork/stonework like that sometimes and just assume something else was there!

Don't live too far from Nunroyds myself. Amazing what you notice on a stroll through your own stomping ground. Things I wouldn't normally see because I am driving most of time!

Massive old Beech tree if memory serves.Lidgett Hill fairly recent invention, though houses all down Lidg. LnPhilld & IKB have done some good detective round there - I can't post images at mo'.But you'd the walled garden to Gledhow Hall behind there - access via their private bridge over Gledhow Lane or by the Old House Lidgett Ln just up from your shot.
