I looked at the list a while ago, but I've seen nothing that really attracts my attention this year sadly. I have noticed that year after year it starts to become a little 'samey' It's great of course that public can get to see buildings not usually open to them. But after a while it seems to be the same places years after year, and very little new, or different places to churches and libraries appears!I think some fresh ideas are needed for next year definitely.

This stunning art deco building was constructed in 1931 as the new Tetley offices and functioned as such until operations at the brewery ceased in 2011. Visitors will have the opportunity to see the building in its original state and to see plans for its future development. Opening Times Friday 7th September: 1100-1600 Saturday 8th September: 1100-1600 Access We regret there is no disabled access to the upper floors at this time. I was also at Tetley's Brewery (what is left of it!) today Brunel. Sadly there was little to see in the parts of the building that were open. The War Memorial and the fascinating old lift (which was not in use) was really all there was. I had hoped there would be a magnificent table in the Board Room but that room, like the others, was empty. It was nice though to see that the wood for the cupboards and doors all seemed to be made of solid wood. There was a good view of Bridgewater Place that is not seen from nearby streeets but as the windows were locked I could not open any to take a photo (I did not try taking a photo through a window pane).

Good photos Brunel and better quality than those I took. I have put here a photo of the coal-effect electric fire in what I think would have been the Board Room. Shame it was not real coal.Your photo of the lift shows a plant pot at the top of stairs. There was no sign saying not to go down but I asked and was told visitors were not allowed down there. It would presumably lead to a basement so I wonder what (if anything) is down there?

I quite fancy the Holbeck: Cradle of the Industrial Revolution - but I would like to see inside Temple Works so I don't know if that is just walking past it as there is a separate event with booking to see inside it.

If you have not been in a previous year why not have a tour of All Saints' Church, Barwick in Elmet and/or the Iron Age Earthworks and Norman Motte & Bailey close by. The Church will be open 10 am to 4 pm and the Earthworks can be toured between 11am and 4 pm. All the tours start at the Church and operate this year on SATURDAY only.
