No idea sadly, but if I'd been parking my shiny Ford at the top of that hill I'd have turned the wheels to the kerb and left it in gear as well as putting the handbrake on!

Going to stick my neck out here, but i think Burley Road area.In the distance i beleive are the four blocks of flats at Wortley, and then, further in the distance, and placed between the two sets of Wortley flats are Cottingley flats. The two chimneys, centre left, could they be yorkshire Chemicals

There used to be some buildings like that in the photo down Ebor Place leading to Hill Top Place just off Hyde Park Road. Just an opinion, I'm not sure it is there.

Looking at this it could be near Rosebank, but the Leeds Tithe Maps dont seen to show the configuration of streets to give a clear view, pretty sure its around there.

On the 1908 Godfrey Map there's a Methodist Chapel on the left corner of Hill Top Road and Hartwell Road. Alexandra Crescent carries on down hill slightly off kilter. It's now gone.http://goo.gl/maps/VQct

There were two public houses very close by in 1971, The Newlands Pub and The Park or little park , the Newlands Pub may been higher up Hyde Park Road and The Park lower down Hyde Park Road. Finding them would clarify the situation.

I'm going to really stick my neck out and say it was here on Kings Road: http://goo.gl/maps/cmfHThis is slightly up from the Leodis photo but I think the lamp post on the left is still in the same place.

It's certainly possible it could be Kings Road. It is slightly lower down than the Ebor Place street but did have a sharp decline in the direction of Burley Road but the decline on that picture looks more like Ebor Place leading onto Hiil Top Place. The Newlands Public House should identify it more clearly because it was on more or less the same block looking the other way back up the street.
