A new book "Anthony Earnshaw - The Imp Of Surrealism" has just been published. It is a fine tribute to Tony, who lived in Leeds from 1934-89, and for fifteen years taught at the Poly. He was well known on the Leeds arts scene, was the subject of a number of television programmes some years ago. A further exhibition of his work is to take place in Bradford shortly. I knew Tony personally for some years before his move to Saltburn in 1989, and he was a brilliant man and great company. Unfortunately he died in 2001, but his work can be enjoyed in this book or by googling his name.

The life and works of Leeds artist Joash Woodrow (1927-2006) are very well worth a search via Google.

I'm not sure just where he was born but Wilfred Jenkins has produced some Grimshaw - like paintings of Leeds. He was active at the end of the 19th century and some of his works are in the Leeds Art Gallery and on their website.Worth a look. JD
