Hi, I'm new to the site, so thanks for letting me join! Very interested the the Hangman's Tunnel. My GGGrandfather was hung there Feb 1879 - Charles Frederick Peace. I have always wanted to find and pay a visit to his grave, but found out that hanged men would be buried in an unmarked lime pit within the prison walls. That would have been where the new building went on in the 1980's. I read on an old post here that there were 16 bodies exhumed and re- buried in a local cemetery. Would anyone here have any idea if there are any records of whose bodies they were, and where I might find out more information? and which cemetery they were buried in? Oooh, thanks in advance (so excited!)
