This Georgian house, Eastfield, was the home of Leeds solicitor William Bateson in the 1930s and 40s. It was later occupied by one of his twin daughters Joan and her husband, the Leeds surgeon F P Raper who carried out the early kidney transplants in Leeds. After his death the house was sold and demolished the make way for the current British Legion development.

I was fascinated to read this as I learnt fairly recently that I am related to Frederick Raper. Does anyone know where Joan (nee Bateson) moved to after the house was demolished, or what happened to their two daughters, Caroline Raper and Anne Raper? This may be more appropriate for the family history thread, but for now I was hoping that the ruser "Inquirer" might be able to point me in the right direction.

If it starts to take off Kevin, we can make you your own thread but for now, it might get more interest here I think
