Hi,I'm talking at the Bettakultcha event on 02NOV (I know, the name put me off too), it's a night of people giving five minute presentations on various subjects. I'll be talking about 'The Forgotten High Street of Leeds' which was in the Quarry Hill area of Leeds. I'm hoping most of my maps and slides are new to those attending and at least interesting to those who already know about the slums and the spa. I'll be posting the slides and notes on my blog - http://exploringleeds.blogspot.com - and slide share in case anyone's interested in having a look (I'll post an update on this thread with the link when they are up, probably Wednesday). If you fancy coming along on the night, it's being held at Left Bank which is the new name for St Margaret's Church on Cardigan Road. The church which had fallen into disuse has been renovated and is now a music and arts venue. I went there on the Heritage Open Days and it is a stunning place., I was delighted when they announced it would be the venue! Tickets are £5 to cover the event's license and the kit, there's food laid on, a little music and a mix of topics. Tickets from here - http://bettakultcha5.eventbrite.com.Hope no one minds me posting this, I am making the info available for free as well as at the event!Alex
