Yes your right Weenie, you can't see the grill thing on Google street view. But while were near there, what are these stone plinths for?http://snipurl.com/wrelmThere's two of them, one either side. I can't really see any purpose to them. They look to have a moveable metal door, or lid. They seem to have adverts inside them now. But can you see one is tipped inwards a bit? I wonder if there anything to do with that grill?

We walk past things everyday and never give them a second thought. Were always in a rush i guess. They do seem an unusual things, with no real purpose. I'm sure a few S.L. ers will have some thoughts on them, and the grill

Those "things" have always been playbill holders. there are more by the town hall. and more again further up near the library. there are lights inside.Dunno about these grids though.

They don't look very well sited in my opinion to have been built specifically for paybill advertising. There facing the wrong way for a start, and there far too low down. You just walk straight past them lol They do look over substantial as well.
