I pass these run down derilict mills every morning. I come along past Cross Green and while crossing the new fly over (south accomidation road) I look to my left and see these...and another view...Anyone remember them? or know what they once were?

There's still some substantial coal staithes, and a retaining wall from the Waterloo colliery opposite the mills. It's very overgrown over there, not many walk along that side, so you never see any pics of it. It's probably one of the only traces of the pit to be found i'd say. There's also a deep man hole situated in one of the coal bays, it goes down three levels at least, i think it carries oil pipes under the river from when the Leeds oil refinery was there.Maybe Chameleon, or Brandy might upload this aerial shot onto S.L for me? http://www.flickr.com/photos/phill_dvsn ... ecretleeds
