There was talk of the Chinese gateway being erected on Quarry Hill, but that all went quiet ages ago and it going to cost a stupid amount of money to do, as happens when the public purse is paying. To be honest, as a city, we are bloody useless at that sort of thing. Much as it pains me to say it Manchester does it a damn sight better.

While others have the supertrams, we have purple slugs, and talk of useless trolley buses. While Manchester has a thriving China town, we have a Chinese arch getting dusty in storage. Thriving waterfronts for other cities, Our Clarence dock declared a ghost town already. Not to mention Leeds oldest timber framed building locked away behind a closed gate. The list goes on and on.Oh yeah, we haven't got the music arena up and running yet. My advice is... Don't count your chickens!!Leeds does not Lead Leeds City Council get a grip!!!

I'm not that keen on Chinese food, with the honourable exception of Red Chilli. But when I went to a Chinese supermarket in Chinatown, it wasn't just Chinese stuff. There were ingredients for Thai, Vietnamese, Korean and Japanese food, that you just couldn't get elsewhere (you may be able to now) like galangal (a bit like ginger) lemon grass, kaffir lime leaves (all Thai) Kimchi - a Korean pickle, and other unusual ingredients.

[quotenick="chameleon"]In terms of getting a grip, off-topic, but I turned this up today, taken from Leeds Advanced Transit News. Note the date!**************************Now then Chameleon, you have found something that Leeds is VERY good at We can't be beaten for having fantastic drawings, and promises of amazing projects to bestow our great city.Throw many million of pounds at it, draw plans, and feed the newspapers the story for a few years......then nothing.I reckon those drawings have cost 5 million each, were in the wrong job mate
