We went down to look at the Albert Mill fire (next to Town Hall) and every one was saying "the town hall's on fire" the police of course were denying it, but then you could see the top smouldering. The lead ran down the clockface just like tears. Then the timber constrution of the dome collapsed inside the tower a bit like a bonfire.The police were diverting the buses around Commercial Street and Coffin Corner. One Yorkshire Woollen driver said he'd risk going through and the spire came down right in front of his cab! All very dramatic.
