Hi all, rode past the old international pool today to see alarge gaping hole in the side of it, looks like the tearing down of the external walls has begun, won't be long before it has gone for good.BTW does anyone know what they plan to do with the very large pile of hardcore they have stored in the old carperk? thought it might be to fill the hole in afterwards 8-)

It will probably surface the car park that will be there for the next five years.

Probably to fill in the holes where the pools were.

Apart from the diving pit, much of the pool is actually already above ground level and that pile at its peak was almost 12m high.A large area has been spread out again to allow the demolition plant easier access to the fron wall. The long corridor was eaten yesterday followed rapidly by the main steel/glass frontage. The site has been rigged with a fair bit of CCTV by the way so I think going over-the-fence might not be wise - it is starting to look a bit ify in there in parts too.

Almost inside, but not without some intrepidation. The plinth between the main pool and the diving pool is surprisingly thin.
