Some department has arranged for the good old fashioned cast iron sign to be removed and replaced with one of these modern sheets of plastic.It is on the old Canal office building, now converted to flats.This is a protected building, how can they just rip off the old one?

Quite so Brunel - municipal vandalism at its worst !! Incidentally I am a bit surprised that the LS10 postal district comes so near to the city centre.

That's a real shame. What was wrong with the old one? If it ain't broke, don't fix it (or put the new one up wonky.)Incidentally, I think the sign at the end of my street is probably original. It's made of wood and is so badly weathered it is almost impossible to read, but it is a tiny bit of history. It might even be the temporary sign that somehow got forgot, back in 1879 when that end of the street was built. I wouldn't want to see it go. I'll post a pic if I get the chance.

Bridgewater Place - and others are in LS11. You might (or might not) be surprised to learn that there are representations to alter the boundary so that they are within LS1. This is said to be to make them more desirable and, desirable of course means more expensive and ergo, more profit of course!

I'd have thought it would be LS11 - but Tetleys in on Hunslet Road and I suppose that's LS10. I always thought Holbeck, Beeston, and Meadow Lane were LS11.
