I was wandering around town this afternoon, and noticed that there is what seems to be a very strange relic left from the old Stock Exchange that used to sit on the corner of Albion Street and Albion Place. This photo from Leodis shows an engraving of the stock exchange

If you go down the alley to the left, there is a lamp there that says on it "Leeds Stock Exchange"I am not sure as to why, and my crappy little phone camera couldnt pick it up so I cant post the pic. the old stock exchange was demolished and the building that you see now was in built in it's place, so I am not sure why the lamps are there.there is also one down the alley a little further down Albion Street, same lamp etc, but I couldnt get a another Street View pic as the bollards are in the ways so the camera car couldnt get down. this really should be in the signs of Old Leodis thread, but I thought someone may know exactly why this was there, and may have a better camera to go take a photo (I will try tomorrow time permitting - back at work again!!)

It's a very grand building for the YMCA, I hadnt realised that the YMCA was that old! This photo is looking down the Albion Place alley way. You can see the "Stock Exchange" sign on the lamp.It doesnt look to be that old really so I still dont get why it is there....
