so me n my pal wa cumin home from that abandonned village place near adel n decided t try get t bradford t get into this deserted farm house n ended up lost on harrogate road sumhow,anyway we noticed this thing thru the trees so obviously found sumwhere t park n went t check it out, turns out it an old castle stil got the foundations for the moat n sum staircases r stil intact although we didnt go all the way to the top cos i scared sh*tless of hights anyway here are sum of the pics n wondered if anyone could tel me what it was used for n what its called. it on harrogate road on the way to leeds if u look on google earth it just on the bend u can see it in the trees

we slipped thru them holes in the gate , promise dont believe me ill take a pic of me doin it next time , just go feet first n then let ur body just slip thru

Yeah its Harewood Castle,our Phils been there and done a few pics a while ago.Heres a reference on wikihttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harewood_CastleLooks like theyre going to open it to the public

It looks like someone has put a canopy over the "sideboard" fireplace thing to protect it from the elements. This is a positive sign, and in these troubled economic times could bring more revenue in to the Harewood estate should it be open up for general public access "with a small charge"

Oh yes the secret castle.I'm glad to see works started on the place. It really is too good to keep away from the public.I had a look at the top of the castle and also got some night/light shots herehttp://
