SecretLeeds - History, culture and architecture in Leeds

Heading out past the Cardi arms and the back to back streets on the right then past the road to Golf and goals on the left is a long sandstone building that is peculiarly at right angles to the road.The construction looks as old as that lovely old mill down near Morley Railway station that's blue plaqued and listed.Anyone know date/origins/usage/listed?

It's part of the Burley Mills complex built for benjamin gott and used to form the west wing of the mill courtyard. There's some good aerial pictures on leodis. There's also pics of an old pedestrian supension bridge over the aire, I'm presuming for workers from Armley to get to the mill, now long gone i guess, or.....

Is there any pics of it or a link to the Leodis pics guys?I'd like to see it.

The aerial pics are great and yes the building is one end of four sides to a courtyard with cottages and an entrance arch and behind that the mill straddling the river.There are weirs back up the river and a "goit" or mill race mentioned - Goit isn't in the Oxford English and should be!Are you sure it's the west wing? I felt the new buildings to the west were on the mill footprint making it the east wing, but if I an true to form I'll be wrong!!I had an idea it was old and may run back to 1799 according to the blurb.MYSTERY - why leave this one bit????
