This is my first post, and I'm actually from America, so bear with me... I've been trying to satisfy my curiosity, but I can't find any information about the building that currently houses O'neill's pub at 26 Great George Street. I noticed walking by the other day that top says "AD 1865" and there is a large star of david. There are also two circle areas that have what looks to be scales in relief. The three windows are reminiscent of many synagogues, which leads me to my question: could this have been a synagogue at some point?

I think it was an old Masonic lodge, see http://www.philanthropic.org.uk/history%204.htm
There are only 10 types of people in the world -those who understand binary, and those that don't.

Thanks! Thats very interesting, I suppose that means the symbol is a "hexagram" rather than a Star of David
