I live on the Westwood housing estate for the past 7 years now and within the last 12 months i have been researching my family history. Only to find out that back in the 60s and before when the estate was farm land my family actually owned it. The farm house used to be where the tivolli bingo is situated. My great great grandad James Glen Jr and his wife my great great grandma Sarah Glen were the owners of the surrounding land. When i went into further depth regarding my family i found out that there was also another farm where the newhalls are now called newhall farm and also glasshouse farm both of which were again run by my family. I f any1 else has any more information to help me further please add to this.

The Tivoli cinema opened in 1934, so I think you'd be talking abour earlier than the 1960's
there are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand ternary, those that don't and those that think this a joke about the binary system.

this pic is of Glasshouse farm from Leodis - with caption."28th November 1928 View of farmhouse, which was apparently named for the hot house which was at the front. It was bought from William Bower of Meanwood Park in 1898 for the sum of £6,650, by the Middleton Estate and Colliery Company, of which Francis William Tetley was a partner. The farm was approximately 66 acres, situated in the area of Acre Road, junction with the avenue."If you search 'Glasshouse' on Leodis- you will find several more pics taken at the same time
